|In-Sight Fellowship Time |
A series of 7 weekly group discussions of human personality with Reverend Scott
Beginning Monday, March 10, in Fellowship Hall at 7:00PM
Fellowship is a church word. Rarely heard outside of "church" talk. It has strong roots in the ancient Greek language used to write the bible. We talk about Fellowship Groups and name our second largest room Fellowship Hall. Acts 2:42 describes the first Christians like this: “They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” Those items are still on the Church's menu including fellowship because it is vital and nourishing to human life.
Lenten Bible StudyPastor Sang will be leading a Lenten Bible Study at 6:30PM on Tuesdays starting March 11th and engine on April 5th. The study will be based on the book by Adam Hamilton, 24 Hours that Changed the World - 40 Days of Reflection. If you are interested, concat the church office.
All women and children of First UMC are invited to tea on Saturday, March 22 to share lunch, fellowship, and the (inside) story on John Wesley's connection with teapots. Menu will feature light soup, sandwiches, and 'dainties.' We will gather in Oxford Center at 11:30 and conclude by 1:30. Please plan to come and bring a friend.
Because we are raising oney for missions, we are requesting a donation of $4.00 for adults and $2.00 for students (kingergarten through college), with no charge for children under 5. Please make your reservation by Tuesday, March 18, by calling the church office.
Unstoppable is an United Methodist Women’s event for young women (going into 9th grade through age 25) that will happen at Grove City College, July 10 (starting with supper) through lunch on Sunday, July 13. This event is being organized and planned by young women for young women. The young women who are planning this event attended an event at Duke University called Limitless.
The UMW organization at FUMC is willing to help send young women to this event. These young women are learning the issues, finding their voices and changing the world. For more information, please contact our UMW.
