OPENING PROCLAMATION

L. When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all gathered together in one place.

P: And suddenly a sound came from heaven like the rush of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

L:And there appeared to them tongues of fire, distributed and resting on each of them.

P: And they were filled with the Holy Spirit.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

O Shepherd of us all, who inspiried your servants to record in scripture every gift of the Holy Spirit, renew us in the image of your Son.  Grant, we ask you now, your Spirit to this congregation, that we may proclaim faithfully what is the hope of the world, magnify your love, and bring your healing grace to the whole Church: through the same Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

L: Glory to God, source of all, Eternal Word and Holy Spirit, One God; Holy and Blessed Trinity.

P: Who is now, ever was, and shall be for endless ages, Amen.

 Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

 Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
